Side effects are mainly gastrointestinal: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation. Gallbladder stones may form in some people.

The average weight loss at 68 weeks in patients treated with semaglutide is approximately 15% of initial body weight.

 

Is Semaglutide approved in Italy for the treatment of obesity?

Semaglutide is currently approved in Italy only for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. AIFA is expected to approve obesity in 2023.
