Sclerosing therapy is used in aesthetic medicine to treat unsightly capillaries that form on the legs due to venous circulation problems. This therapy consists of small injections, through a very thin needle, of an “irritating” liquid that produces the coagulation of the treated vessels and their consequent absorption, closing precisely the veins themselves for “chemical irritation”. This type of procedure is minimally painful and allows you to quickly return to your daily activities. Usually to achieve the desired result several sessions are necessary, because the same capillaries generally have to be treated several times and the number of sessions depends on the subjective response of each of us. We can estimate that on average, it is necessary to carry out a cycle of 4-6 sessions, every fortnight, of about 20 minutes each. At the end of the session in the treated site, small cotton balls and patches are applied which, after a few hours after therapy, can be removed. Some small precautions are also necessary: for the entire period of the treatment it is advisable to use a 70 den elastic sock, so it is better to carry out the treatment during the winter season, it is good not to expose yourself to the sun to avoid staining of the skin after the treatment and immediately after it is advisable to walk for at least thirty minutes. It is necessary, before starting therapy, to carry out a venous echocolordoppler of the lower limbs, to explore the patency and continence of the deep venous circulation.
