Calcium hydroxyapatite filler

Radiesse® is a filler consisting of 30% calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres and 70% a carboxymethylcellulose gel, which keeps the particles in suspension. When we talk about calcium hydroxyapatite, we must always keep in mind that, like collagen, this is a natural component of human bones, and therefore is not recognized by the body as a foreign body. Over time, calcium hydroxyapatite breaks down and is reabsorbed by the body, which is why Radiesse® is considered a completely reabsorbable filler. This treatment has a double effect: an increase in the immediate volume, linked to the inoculation of the product, and an increase in volume after some time, linked to neocollagenogenesis, stimulated by the presence of calcium crystals hydroxyapatite. This allows us to obtain a duration of the effect that exceeds 15 months. This filler, with “filling” properties, is used in aesthetic medicine to fill skin imperfections due to sagging of the dermis, such as small wrinkles or depressions of the face. The session lasts about 30 minutes, the product is inoculated with small syringes under the dermis, does not involve particular contraindications and is not invasive.
