Dentistry is that branch of medicine, divided into numerous specializations, which deals with the prevention, diagnosis and medical and surgical therapy of pathologies that affect teeth, gums, maxillary bones (upper and lower maxilla or mandible), temporomandibular joints, salivary glands, neuro-muscular tissues and oral mucous membranes.
